Steve Spiegel
CEO, Founder, Therapist
DIP (Counselling). NCAC FDAP Accredited Drug and Alcohol Counsellor
Narrator, lecturer, trainer, ex songwriter and musician Steve co-founded The Providence Projects and remains its charismatic engine. The complete professional in the field, he has a vast knowledge of the dark inner forces that drive people into drug and alcohol abuse, having immersed himself personally in that world and therefore understanding it first hand. This knowledge puts him in the forefront of the battle against addiction and has been invaluable in the development of The Providence Method.
He joins the ranks of the new breed of counsellors with his affirming, humanistic approach that is stamped indelibly on the everyday working style of the Project. He has trained and lectured in America and Jersey and is a sought after speaker. He is trained in Psychodynamic and Client Centred Counselling as well as Neuro-Linguistic Programming.
Staff
Without a doubt, the key to treatment is people. The best programme in the world delivered by untrained therapists would not work. All research suggests that the skill of the therapist and the relationship they form with their client is the key to success. All counsellors at The Providence Projects are fully trained therapists who receive fortnightly external supervision. Many of the team have also experienced drug or alcohol dependency first hand and therefore understand addiction and what comes with it. They also know how to recover.
If you do get a chance to come here for an assessment or to have a look around, you will see that to the team here, this is not just a job. This is true from the founder right through to the administrative team.
